  2. Location Data: Depending on your consent, we collect your location via IP or GPS and maintain a location history of visited tourist attractions and cities.
  3. Contributions: Any articles, reviews, discussions, personal pages, and other multimedia contributions you make are stored as long as business needs dictate. Remember, when you contribute to Advisor.Travel, you leave a permanent, public record. Like most things on the Internet, anything you share can be copied and redistributed throughout the Internet by other people. Therefore, avoid contributing any information you're uncomfortable making permanently public.
  4. Third-party Integrations: Users can sign in using such services as Google, Foursquare, Facebook, or Instagram. We retrieve basic information and extended data from these platforms with your consent.
  5. External Image Sources: We integrate images from partners services like Flickr, Wikimedia, and Panoramio and others to enhance content richness.

How We Use Your Data

  1. Enhance User Experience: Your friends lists, visited and liked destinations lists as well as location data aids in providing attraction recommendations, curated travel journals, and relevant friend connections.
  2. Public Information & Contributions: As previously mentioned, contributions are generally public and can be viewed by others if not configured otherwise when you were submitting it to Advisor.Travel.
  3. Emails: We may use your email to send you updates, notifications, and promotional content. You can manage the types of emails you receive or unsubscribe at any time. Note that certain critical information emails may be mandatory.

Cookies & Logging

We employ cookies for session management, website preferences and User Experience enhancement. Third-party services, such as Google Analytics, may also use cookies for tracking. Logs are maintained for site integrity, especially to monitor and prevent vandalism.

Data Security & Management

  1. Password: Your password is stored securely and is not accessible to any staff or third parties. We strongly recommend using a unique and robust password. Our staff will never ask you for your password!

Advisor.Travel is not specifically intended for children. While the site is generally safe, children are advised to access under parental guidance.
